Turkish Delight (لوقوم)

“Turkish Delight (لوقوم)” is a project centralized around how individual grief defines identity. I explore the loss of my father and how both he and his Saudi Arabian roots influence how I identify (sexually and gender-wise) and present myself to the world. I consider how it affects my relationships with people of all genders and sexualities. With him being physically absent, I am only left with memories and create images that explore this confusion, contention, and confession stemming from his absence.
